First hike🍃
Curtain cliffs. Red cliffs. ⛰️🍃
My first hike took place at the Red Cliffs Curtain Cliffs, Ma'on District, Chiang Mai Province, a place full of charms of nature, challenges and impressions that will never be forgotten.
Beginning of the journey
I was very excited that morning because it was the first hike in my life, fully prepared for my shoes, clothes, backpacks and drinking water, but in my heart there was little concern about whether to be tired or not to survive, because I heard that the path was steep and red rocks along the way.
The Path to the Red Cliffs
The first step into the forest, the atmosphere was quiet, with only the sound of birds and the sound of leaves. The wind welcomed the fragrance of the damp soil. Some times it was so steep that it took a break to breathe. But when looking around, it was worth seeing the rich forest, the big green trees and the intricate views that gradually emerged.

When I arrived at the red curtain, the sight of the front immediately made the fatigue disappear. The red cliff intersected the sky and the forest below, like a great natural wall. I sat on a rock, took a deep breath and looked at the wide view. The feeling was "very proud of myself" because I went beyond fear and fatigue to my destination.
What has been learned ❤️
This hike taught us a lot, not only how to get close to nature, but also how each effort and small step can really get us to a big goal, and how to appreciate preparation and learn to endure difficulties along the way.
Impressions not forgotten 😊
Although tired and sweaty, what comes back is happiness, pride and good memories that I want to keep forever. The first hike at the Red Curtain Cliffs convinced me that there will definitely be a second, third and many more.
ถ้าใครกำลังหา “ผาม่าน ผาแดง แม่ออน” เพื่อวางแผนไปเดินป่าครั้งแรกเหมือนเรา แนะนำให้เตรียมตัวนิดนึงแล้วจะสนุกขึ้นมาก เพราะเส้นทางมีทั้งช่วงทางชัน หินแดง และโขดหินที่ต้องก้าวให้มั่นคง แต่รางวัลคือวิวมุมสูงของป่าเขาเขียวๆ กับหมอกลอยปกคลุม (บางวันคือทะเลหมอกเลย) สวยจนลืมเหนื่อย สิ่งที่เราเตรียมแล้วช่วยมาก - รองเท้า: เลือกรองเท้าดอกยางเกาะพื้นดี (เทรล/เดินป่า) เพราะบางช่วงเป็นหินกับดินร่วน ถ้าพื้นลื่นจะเสียแรงมาก - เป้สะพายหลัง: ใช้ใบที่กระชับหลัง ใส่น้ำ+ของจำเป็น ไม่ต้องหนักเกิน เพราะทางขึ้นทำให้เหนื่อยไว - น้ำดื่ม: พกให้พอและจิบเรื่อยๆ (อย่ารอหิวน้ำค่อยดื่ม) - เสื้อผ้า: ช่วงเช้าอากาศเย็น ลมบนยอดค่อนข้างแรง โดยเฉพาะวันที่มีหมอก แนะนำเสื้อกันลมบางๆ เพิ่มอีกชั้น - ของจุกจิกที่ควรมี: ยาดม/เกลือแร่/พลาสเตอร์กันรองเท้ากัด/ทิชชู่เปียก และถุงขยะเล็กๆ เก็บขยะตัวเอง ทริคเดินเส้นทางให้ไม่หมดแรง - เดินช้าแต่สม่ำเสมอ (คุมลมหายใจให้เป็นจังหวะ) ช่วงชันให้ก้าวสั้นๆ แล้วพักแบบสั้นๆ บ่อยๆ จะดีกว่านั่งพักยาวจนตัวเย็น - เวลาเจอโขดหินหรือทางหินแดง ให้มอง “จุดวางเท้า” ก่อนเสมอ และใช้มือช่วยพยุงตอนปีน/ก้าวสูง จะมั่นใจขึ้น - ถ้าตั้งใจไปดูหมอก/ถ่ายรูป แนะนำเริ่มเช้าหน่อย จะได้แสงนุ่มๆ เห็นหมอกจางๆ ลอยตามหุบเขา ถ่ายมุมกว้างออกมาสวยมาก จุดที่เราชอบที่สุดของดอยผาม่าน ผาแดง คือช่วงขึ้นถึงจุดชมวิวที่เห็นหน้าผาและแนวภูเขาซ้อนกัน มีโขดหินให้นั่งพัก หยิบมือถือถ่ายรูปได้หลายมุม ทั้งมุมยืนบนหิน มุมกว้างเห็นป่าเขา และมุมที่หมอกหนาทึบลอยอยู่ด้านล่าง ฟีลเหมือนยืนอยู่เหนือเมฆจริงๆ ข้อควรรู้เล็กๆ สำหรับมือใหม่ - เช็กสภาพอากาศก่อนไป ถ้าฝนตก/ฝนเพิ่งหยุด ทางอาจลื่นมาก ควรเลี่ยงหรือเพิ่มความระวัง - เคารพธรรมชาติ: ไม่ทิ้งขยะ ไม่เด็ดพืช ไม่ส่งเสียงดัง เพราะบรรยากาศป่าที่เงียบสงบคือเสน่ห์ของที่นี่ - ถ้าไปครั้งแรกและยังไม่มั่นใจ แนะนำไปกับเพื่อนหรือคนที่เคยเดินมาก่อน จะอุ่นใจกว่า โดยรวม “ผาม่าน ผาแดง” เป็นเส้นทางที่ท้าทายกำลังดีสำหรับคนอยากเริ่มเดินป่า ได้ทั้งความภูมิใจและวิวหมอกบนภูเขาแบบคุ้มๆ ใครกำลังเล็งแม่ออน เชียงใหม่ไว้ ลองใส่ที่นี่ในลิสต์ได้เลย
