your friendly reminder that supplements are not a necessity! as much as i post about pre workout/creatine etc. i never want anyone new to the gym to think that in order to see progress you need to get x,y, and z. master the basics and add the rest when you can be consistent:) @Gymshark Women @Gymshark #mythmonday #fitnessmyths #supplements fueled by @Legion Supplements NIVEAM to save $ :))
In my experience, many newcomers to fitness often feel pressured to buy every supplement on the market before seeing real results. However, the truth is you don’t need pre-workouts, creatine, or protein powders to make progress — consistency with training and nutrition is what counts most. From my own fitness journey, focusing first on hitting your protein and calorie targets through whole foods gave me steady, long-term improvements. Supplements can be helpful but only once you have the basics dialed in: consistent workouts, progressive overload, quality sleep, and balanced macro and micronutrient intake. I also learned that supplements are not meal replacements; they supplement what you already get from food. If you’re fueling your body properly and training well, supplements won’t magically accelerate gains. Fitness influencers often promote various products, but it’s essential to build a firm foundation first. Think of supplements as tools rather than necessities. Adding them only after consistent training and nutrition habits will make your progress more sustainable and less dependent on quick fixes. Ultimately, patience and focus on fundamentals helped me see results and maintain them. Don’t let marketing create unnecessary pressure — master the basics, be consistent, and add supplements when you’re truly ready to optimize your efforts.
