This pause allowed me to assess my current momentum and energy levels, ensuring I didn't overextend myself. Maintaining planned pacing in both training and work became a game changer—my progress became more sustainable and enjoyable. I also learned to trust that progress doesn't have to be urgent to be meaningful. Telling myself "Fast is optional. Consistent is not." gave me the clarity and reassurance to resist the societal pressure around "doing more, faster." The reality is that momentum sustained by rhythm and steady motion not only lasts longer but also supports better clarity, form, and energy. Momentum fueled by adrenaline and rushing can quickly lead to burnout and loss of focus.
