The ordinary milky toner 🥛✨

New to my skincare routine.

As an acne prone girly, i take my skincare seriously. After years of trying and testing out products, I finally have my routine tailored just right. Most of what i use today have been in my skincare collection for years.

I've been using this tonner for 3-4 weeks now, and I've been loving it.

This toner is gentle, exfoliating and moisturizing. I can't speak to all its benefits just yet, I'd need a few more weeks/months before I can give a thorough review. So far, I love the hydration and glow this gives my skin.

I will most likely repurchase once I run out.

... Read moreOkay, so I've been raving about this toner in my initial review, but I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner has truly captured my heart, especially as someone with persistent acne issues. It’s been just a few weeks, but the difference is already noticeable! First, let's talk about the texture, because that's often the first thing you experience. When you pour it out, it's not a thin, watery liquid like many toners. Instead, it has this beautiful, slightly viscous, milky consistency – exactly what you'd expect from its name! It feels incredibly luxurious and comforting as you pat it onto your skin, absorbing quickly without any stickiness. It's truly a pleasure to use, and I think that's why it contributes so much to the feeling of hydration. Now, about the magic inside. This isn't just any toner; it’s powered by 30% Saccharomyces Ferment. For those like me who love to know what they're putting on their face, Saccharomyces Ferment is essentially a yeast ferment known for its strong hydrating and antioxidant properties. It works wonders in supporting the skin barrier, which is crucial for acne-prone skin that can often be compromised. The OCR notes also highlight ingredients like fermented N-acetylglucosamine and squalane. N-acetylglucosamine is fantastic for gentle exfoliation and promoting skin smoothing and evening out skin tone, helping to tackle those pesky dark spots and pores. Squalane, on the other hand, is a brilliant emollient that locks in moisture without feeling heavy or greasy, adding to that delightful hydration and skin softening effect. So, how do I fit this gem into my routine? It's super simple! After cleansing my face, I dispense a few drops of this milky toner into my palms and gently press it onto my skin. I use it both morning and night. In the morning, it preps my skin perfectly for serums and sunscreen, giving me a fresh, dewy base. In the evening, it provides that extra layer of hydration before my heavier treatments and moisturizer. It’s incredibly versatile and plays well with other actives I use, which is a huge bonus for my tailored routine. Regarding 'before and after' expectations: while I mentioned earlier that a few weeks isn't enough for a full transformation, I can honestly say my skin feels significantly more hydrated and supple. I've noticed a subtle glow and a reduction in some of the dryness I typically experience, especially alongside other acne treatments. The gentle exfoliation is definitely helping with skin smoothing without any irritation, which is a big win for my sensitive, pimple-prone skin. I'm excited to see the long-term benefits for even skin tone and dark spot correction as I continue using it. The simple, functional packaging of The Ordinary bottle also makes it easy to dispense and store – nothing fancy, just effective. For anyone looking for a hydrating, gently exfoliating toner that supports your skin barrier and tackles concerns like dark spots and uneven texture, especially if you have acne-prone skin, I genuinely recommend giving The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner a try. It’s quickly become a repurchase item for me!
