... Read moreWow, it feels absolutely incredible to have reached 2,000 followers on TikTok! It’s such a huge milestone, and honestly, I’m still pinching myself. I remember starting out, just wanting to share my ink drawings and connect with other art enthusiasts. Never in a million years did I expect to reach this many people, especially with my original characters!
A special shout-out has to go to my vampire OC, Bweeble. She's truly become a fan favorite! I love bringing her to life with her striking red eyes, sharp fangs, and sometimes, even delicate roses woven into her hair. Those detailed ink drawings of her, especially when she's playfully talking about 'eating souls,' always seem to get a great reaction! Seeing her expressive face, from wide-eyed excitement to mischievous blushes, has been a joy to create and share.
Many of you have asked about my journey and how I managed to get to 2k followers. Honestly, it's a mix of passion, consistency, and a little bit of learning along the way. If you're an artist or creator trying to grow your own presence on TikTok, here are a few things I've picked up that might help you on your path to 2,000 followers or beyond:
Find Your Niche and Stick With It (Mostly!): For me, it's my fantasy art and, more specifically, my original characters and ink drawings. People love seeing character development and a consistent style. Don't be afraid to show off what makes your art unique, whether it's a specific medium or a recurring character like my vampire OC.
Show Your Process, Not Just the Finished Piece: I've found that people really connect with seeing the behind-the-scenes. Sharing time-lapses of my ink drawings, progress shots, or even just talking about my inspirations and struggles can be incredibly engaging. It makes your work feel more human and relatable.
Engage, Engage, Engage!: This is crucial. Reply to comments, ask questions in your captions, and interact with other creators. Building a community around your art makes a huge difference. When Bweeble makes a funny comment, I often see people responding directly to her, which is just brilliant!
Hashtags Are Your Friends: Don't just throw random hashtags out there. Use relevant ones that describe your content. I consistently use #drawing #inkdrawing #oc #vampireart #artistsoftiktok #traditionalart – these help people who are specifically looking for that kind of content find me.
Consistency Over Perfection: It's better to post regularly, even if it's just a quick sketch or an update, than to wait for one 'perfect' piece. Keeping your feed active keeps your audience engaged and tells the algorithm you're a consistent creator.
Authenticity Shines Through: Just be yourself and share what you genuinely love. My goofy vampire OC, Bweeble, with her slightly menacing yet charming personality, seems to resonate because it's genuine to my artistic voice. People appreciate realness.
It wasn't always a smooth road; some videos definitely flopped, and there were times I felt a bit discouraged. But staying true to my art and having fun with it was always the key. Seeing the comments and engagement on my vampire OC's antics, or how people appreciate the details in my ink drawings, really kept me going.
Now, the 'climbing gear' is out, and I'm already looking forward to the journey to 3,000 followers! I'm excited to continue sharing more of my ink drawings, character designs, and maybe even some more behind-the-scenes peeks into my creative process. If you're an artist or creator looking to grow, remember to just keep creating, keep sharing your unique voice, and don't be afraid to put your passion out there!
