Autumn in Pakistan - Path of Color on the Karakoram Mountains

A 10-day trip that will take you to experience Pakistan's most spectacular color-changing season, a land surrounded by snowy mountains, turquoise blue lakes, and ancient villages on the Silk Road.

Day 1 - Islamabad ✈ Skardu

Beginning his journey to Skardu, a city in the middle of the valley of the Karakoram Mountains. On the way, the flight will see the spectacular lined snow peaks as pictured in the documentary. By the time it reaches Skardu, the cold, fresh air and golden leaves begin to dotted the entire valley. Rest comfortably at the Courteous Hotel to prepare for the extraordinary adventure.

Day 2 - Skardu - Khaplu - Sunset Haldi Cones

Traveling to Khaplu, an ancient town in the middle of a valley, filled with golden yellow poplar trees beautifully contrasting with maroon mountains. On the way, the view of the Shyok River meanders through a small village like a painting.

Evening sunset at Haldi Cones, a sharp, quaint-shaped rock peak. When cool light hits the mountains, the gold and orange colors resonate throughout the valley. It is one of Baltistan's most beautiful color-changing seasonal scenic spots.

Day 3 - Twin Bridge - Sarfaranga Desert

Experience the excitement at Twin Bridge, a suspension bridge in the middle of the valley, with a view of the blue river flowing through the high mountains, before returning to Skardu and onwards to Sarfaranga Cold Desert, the world's only mid-snow desert.

During the evening, the sun slowly turns the sand into a golden-pink color, while behind the enormous snow peaks is a strange and romantic geek.

Day 4 - Katpana Desert - Kachura Lake - Gilgit

Morning, watch Katpana Desert, a high desert tinged with yellow-gold trees in autumn. Before traveling to Shangrila Resort and Lower Kachura Lake, an emerald-colored lake surrounded by pine forests and mountains. During Autumn, the leaves around the lake turn red, orange, and gold. Reflect onto the glass-like waters. Before continuing on to Gilgit.

Day 5 - Old Silk Route - Rakaposhi - Duiker Sunset

Today is one of the highlights of the trip, traveling on the ancient Silk Road, among the golden trees and villages in the middle of the valley.

Watch the imposing high Rakaposhi peaks covered in pure white snow, and the distinctive pointed-shaped Lady Finger peaks.

Stop by the village of Altit before ascending to the Duikar Viewpoint to watch the sunset over the Hunza Valley during the changing season. The whole valley becomes a sea of gold, orange and red, magically intersecting the white snow peaks.

Day 6 - Nagar - Hopper Glacier - Karimabad

Travel to Nagar County, watch Hopper Glacier or Black Glacier, the famous dark glacier, surrounded by towering peaks.

In autumn, the surrounding villages are filled with bright golden apricot gardens. Perfect for street photography at Karimabad, a warm little town full of Hun Sa cultural vibe, stay at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Day 7 - Attabad Lake - Passu

Today, meet the magic of Attabad Lake, a turquoise blue lake formed by the immense nature. Fresh blue water perfectly contrasts with golden mountains and trees.

Walk across Suspension Bridge, a nightmarish wooden bridge over the river, before seeing the calm of Borith Lake and the spectacular view of Passu Glacier.

End the day at Passu Village among the picturesque Passu Cones peaks around a fantasy world.

Day 8 - Passu Cones - Khyber Valley

Morning Wake Up With Passu Cones View Unique Lined Cape Peak, Symbol Of Hun Sa

Travel to Khyber Valley, a quiet valley full of golden trees and wide fields. Ibex mountain goats can be seen naturally.

The season changes color. This is like a painting of nature before returning to Gilgit.

Day 9 - Karakoram Highway - Bisham

Take off through Karakoram Highway, one of the most beautiful roads in the world, trails along rivers, indus and high mountains along the way.

Autumn makes the whole valley full of yellow gold and dark red, beautiful as an adventure movie.

Day 10 - Taxila - Islamabad - Airport

End your trip with a visit to Taxila, a 2,000-year-old world heritage city full of ancient Buddhist civilizations, before traveling to Islamabad to see the beauty of Faisal Mosque, South Asia's largest mosque.
