its ok to ask for help.🫂❤️‍🩹

I just saw a post from a creator I follow on TikTok who’s been struggling with postpartum, and it really resonated with me. I want to take a moment to share this with all the young or first-time moms out there who might be going through the same thing. I feel like we don’t talk enough about postpartum, especially in the first few months. For me, those first three months were the hardest. I hated myself, cried for no reason, and often felt completely alone—even though my partner was right there with me.

To anyone who feels this way, please know you’re not alone. It’s so easy to feel like you’re failing or that you’re not doing enough, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re doing an amazing job, even on the days when it feels impossible. It’s okay to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or like you’re losing yourself in the process. Postpartum can be a rollercoaster, and sometimes it’s just about surviving the tough moments, you don’t need to have it all together. You’re human, and you’re doing the best you can. If you need to cry, cry. If you need a break, take one. You’re not a bad mom for having hard days. The love you have for your baby is real, and that’s what matters, Take care of yourself as best as you can, and remember you’ve got this, even when it feels like you don’t. Hang in there, mama❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹#postpartumdepression #godheals#newmom #askforhelp

... Read moreStepping into motherhood is often portrayed as pure bliss, but for many of us, myself included, the reality can be a stark contrast. My own postpartum journey was a whirlwind of emotions, tears, and an overwhelming sense of inadequacy. The original post perfectly captures that feeling of being lost, even with a partner by your side. It’s so vital to remember: you are not alone in this. One of the biggest lessons I learned was the true meaning of 'it's okay to ask for help.' It’s not a sign of weakness; it’s a superpower. When I saw that supportive message encouraging me to lean on my child's father, family, or friends, it was a huge validation. I remember feeling guilty asking my partner for help with nighttime feedings or just needing an hour to myself. But guess what? They want to help! They just might not know how unless you tell them. Don't be afraid to clearly communicate your needs. Whether it's asking your partner to take the baby for a walk so you can shower, having a friend drop off a meal, or letting your mom do a load of laundry – every little bit counts. Beyond immediate family and friends, consider professional support. I initially dismissed the idea, thinking 'it's just baby blues.' But when the sadness lasted for months, and I found myself struggling to bond with my baby, I realized I needed more. A quick chat with my doctor opened doors to resources I didn't even know existed. Therapists specializing in perinatal mental health can offer incredible tools and strategies to navigate these complex emotions. There's no shame in seeking professional guidance; it’s a brave step towards healing. Self-care might sound like a luxury when you're running on fumes, but it's essential for survival. It doesn't have to be a spa day! It could be as simple as drinking a full glass of water, stepping outside for five minutes of fresh air, listening to your favorite song, or taking a warm bath after the baby is asleep. During my hardest days, just putting on actual clothes instead of pajamas felt like a huge win. Celebrate those small victories. Remember that a well-rested and cared-for mom is a better mom. Connecting with other new moms was another game-changer for me. Online forums, local mom groups, or even just sharing honestly with a friend who's already been through it can provide immense validation and practical tips. Hearing someone else say, 'Me too!' is incredibly powerful. It reminds you that these feelings are normal, temporary, and that you're part of a huge, supportive community. The message also reminded me that 'it gets better.' And it truly does. Those early weeks and months can feel like an eternity, but as your baby grows, as you heal, and as you find your rhythm, things do improve. Be patient with yourself, embrace the mess, and lean on your village. Your strength as a mother is immeasurable, even when you feel at your weakest. You are doing enough, and you are loved. Hang in there, mama.

I know exactly how you feel with my oldest I redirected my postpartum. He was born premature due to something out of my control so I just put all my focus on him getting better that I ignored it but Short shortly after I had my second son, he went full-term by that time their father and I were no longer together
