Every year I hear people talking about vanilla bean Noel so I went and finally picked me up some to try and so far I think it’s good. Not a huge fan of the body spray very alcohol heavy at first but it burns off eventually. The body wash is nice a good lather and smells good but the smell doesn’t last very long so you need to layer the scent.
... Read moreOkay, so I finally caved and picked up some Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel products this season, and I'm ready to share my full, unfiltered review! Every year, it feels like this scent is everywhere, and I wanted to see if it truly lived up to the hype. My haul included the Fine Fragrance Mist and the Body Wash, both housed in those absolutely charming bottles with the festive winter village design featuring houses and a Christmas tree – they definitely add to the holiday cheer!
Let's start with the Vanilla Bean Noel Fine Fragrance Mist. My initial impression was exactly what I’d heard: it does have a noticeable alcohol blast right at the beginning. It's a bit jarring if you spray it too close, but honestly, it dissipates quite quickly, usually within a minute or two. Once that initial alcohol note burns off, you're left with a sweet, cozy, and unmistakably vanilla scent. I wouldn't call it a deep, complex, or gourmet vanilla; instead, it's more of a sugary, almost marshmallow-like vanilla with a hint of caramel and even a touch of fresh, almost icy, note that makes it feel very 'wintery.' It's not heavy or cloying, which I appreciate. On my skin, the fragrance mist lasts for about 2-3 hours before becoming a very subtle skin scent. It's perfect for a quick refresh or for layering.
Next up, the Vanilla Bean Noel Body Wash. This one was a pleasant surprise! It creates a really nice, rich lather that feels luxurious in the shower. The scent in the body wash is absolutely delightful – a warm, sweet vanilla that isn't overpowering but definitely fills the bathroom with a comforting aroma. It leaves my skin feeling clean and soft, which is a big plus. However, as the original article mentioned, the scent from the body wash itself doesn't linger much once you've rinsed it off. That's where layering comes in!
To really make the Vanilla Bean Noel scent last, layering is absolutely key. After using the body wash, I immediately follow up with a matching body lotion or cream (if you have it, which I highly recommend for any Bath & Body Works scent!). This really locks in the moisture and creates a base for the fragrance. Then, I apply the Fine Fragrance Mist. I find that spraying it on my pulse points and also lightly over my clothes helps with longevity. For an extra boost on days I want to smell super cozy, I might even add a spritz to my hairbrush before running it through my hair. The combination of the body wash, a good moisturizer, and the mist ensures that I can enjoy that sweet vanilla aroma for several hours without it completely disappearing. It truly transforms the scent experience from fleeting to fabulously enduring. Overall, while the individual products have their quirks, the full Vanilla Bean Noel experience, especially with layering, is a true winter treat!
