Please Teach Me How To Quietly Well-Dressed😩
I’m genuinely asking because I don’t get it.
Some women always look polished. Their outfits make sense. Their makeup looks clean, not heavy. Even when they’re casual, they still look intentional.
Then there’s me. I put clothes on and somehow still look… off. Either too plain, too outdated, or like I tried too hard and failed. I look in the mirror and think, Why does this feel so awkward?
I don’t want to be trendy or flashy. I just want to look put together. Like I know what I’m doing. Like my clothes are helping me instead of fighting me.
Is it tailoring? Better basics? Fewer colors? Less makeup? More structure? I honestly don’t know where to start.
If you’re someone who always looks polished, how did you get there? Do you have rules or shortcuts? Please teach me😭

As someone who has been told I always look put together even in a sweat outfit I’ll tell you first and foremost is confidence. You probably look better than you realize but you need to walk like you own your look, whatever it is. People who wear the most outrageous colors or patterns wear them well bc they absolutely own it. Next is fit: nothing too tight, definitely not too baggy. Wear your size and whatever is the current style. Don’t downplay colors that’s a myth, just wear colors that you can wear with confidence, insecurity is bright like a neon sign. Makeup should enhance your natural beauty is what I’ve always been told. On occasion it should pop, too much makeup ages you especially if you are already older and the makeup is resting in fine lines. So, 1. Confidence, 2. Fit: a size and style that complements your body 3: makeup that compliments your face, I don’t wear makeup bc I have incredible skin I don’t need it.
