🖤 I thought wanting more made me ungrateful.

For a long time, I thought wanting more meant I wasn’t grateful for what I had.

So I stayed quiet.

I stayed stuck.

I told myself to be thankful and stop wishing for more.

But eventually I realized something.

You can be grateful…

and still want breathing room.

You can love your life…

and still want to improve it.

You can appreciate where you are…

without staying there forever.

Wanting more doesn’t make you ungrateful.

It makes you human. 🖤

... Read moreReflecting on my own journey, I realized that feeling like wanting more was wrong kept me from embracing new opportunities to grow. Many of us face this internal conflict where gratitude feels like a full stop, but growth is a continuous process. Wanting more doesn’t diminish what we already cherish; instead, it acts as a catalyst for positive change. For example, I used to believe that wanting to change my career path meant I was ungrateful for my current job. However, when I accepted that my ambitions are natural and healthy, I began to pursue education and projects that aligned with my passions. This mindset shift created space for both appreciation and aspiration. Moreover, wanting more can be a form of self-care. It encourages breathing room to pursue personal goals, mental wellness, and new experiences. It invites us to redefine success on our own terms while honoring where we started. In daily life, it’s helpful to practice mindful gratitude alongside goal-setting. Journaling what I am thankful for, while planning small achievable steps forward, made me realize that the two are not mutually exclusive. Wanting more isn’t a sign of ingratitude—it’s part of being human and striving for a fuller, richer life experience. Ultimately, embracing this balance can help break free from feeling stuck and cultivate quiet growth. If you’re rebuilding your life or starting over, remember that appreciating your present doesn’t prevent you from shaping your future. It only empowers you to do so with compassion for yourself and the journey ahead.

Now I understand something.
For a long time I thought wanting more made me ungrateful. More peace. More freedom. More joy. More purpose. Now I understand something: Wanting more doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful for what God has already done. It means you’re willing to believe He still has more planned for you.
