“you need me at what… time? for how long? for how much? …nonononono yeah i’m so happy yeah i’ll be there” #acting #actor #cosplayer #hijabcosplay #jobmarket
Shifting from a traditional career path to the unpredictable world of acting and cosplay is both thrilling and exhausting. Having once tried to fit into academia and corporate roles, I fully understand the toll that uninspiring jobs can take on your spirit. When I finally pursued my passion for acting, I was met with endless auditions, rehearsals, and casting calls that often drained me more than my previous jobs. The self-taping alone can be a daunting process, requiring a mix of technical savvy and creative energy. Networking, a critical aspect of breaking into the entertainment industry, feels both essential and overwhelming. Each connection offers a possible doorway to new opportunities, but it requires patience and resilience as not every effort yields immediate results. The joy of cosplay, especially embracing hijab in cosplay, has been a personal highlight. It allows me to express my identity creatively and challenges stereotypes, expanding representation in a space that celebrates diversity. Staying motivated amidst rejections and long hours is tough, but the support from my close circle—everyone cheering me on—has been invaluable. If you have a burning desire to leave behind an unfulfilling career and dive into acting or cosplay, remember that while the journey is demanding, your passion can turn those difficult moments into meaningful achievements. Taking that leap, while scary, is worth it for the joy and self-discovery it brings.
