... Read moreI’ve found that tackling photo clutter can be emotionally challenging, especially because photos represent cherished memories. One helpful approach is to ask yourself whether you actually look at a photo regularly or if it’s just taking up space "going back every year to look at a photo, then why is the photo there?" This question helped me decide which photos to keep and which to let go of. A routine can be a great accountability tool. I started setting aside time monthly to review my digital photo albums, deleting duplicates and blurry shots, and only keeping those that truly capture moments I want to remember. Photos from special family occasions, like weddings or vacations, are often worth keeping, but I avoid hanging on to every single shot from the event. One of my favorite tips is to create themed albums or folders for specific events or people, which makes it easier to revisit meaningful photos. Organizing photos digitally also reduces physical clutter at home. If you’re worried about losing memories, consider backing up photos to a cloud service but avoid simply accumulating more images without a plan. Ultimately, the goal of decluttering photos is not just freeing up space but also making your collection more meaningful, so you can enjoy looking back without feeling overwhelmed. Remember, it’s okay to let go of photos that don’t serve you—what matters most are the memories that bring you joy whenever you look at them.
