Ask God for "one thing."

August 4, 25, read 1, 3: 1-28.

Solomon asked God for wisdom to rule over God's people...I am only a young child "who does not know how to fulfill the obligation to rule." Give me therefore thought and understanding, that I may rule over your people, and that I may distinguish between good and evil. "

God was pleased with this request, for Solomon did not ask for himself, but for justice in duty, in the God-given position God gave and added to what Solomon did not: wealth, honor, and long life.

And then there happened to make Solomon know who was right and who was wrong. Two women asked that the child live in him, and the dead child belonged to the other. Solomon ordered that the sword be cut into two pieces to divide the child in half. The woman who requested the child's life proved to be the real mother, because the other woman asked Solomon to divide the child into two pieces for justice.

If you choose "one thing" from God, what will you choose? Teach me your way and lead me on a flat path (Psalm 27: 11)...Teach us to count our days so that we may have a wise heart (Psalm 90: 12)... I pray that there be a heart full of wisdom and revelation, that we may know Him; that the eyes of the heart may be lightened, that we may know what hope He has given us, and that how rich is His dignified inheritance for the saints (Ephesians 1: 17-18)... that love may multiply with all aspects of knowledge and judgment, that we may observe the most precious, that we may be holy, blameless in the day of Christ, and full of the fruits of righteousness (Philippians 1: 9-11)... that it may be our prayer every new morning.
