Bookly Yearly Update

✨📚🩵📖✨

Bookish update for my year so far, coming to you courtesy of Bookly app! I absolutely adore this app, it provides me with detailed info on my reading habits, encourages maintaining a reading habit and helps keep track of all I want to know about a book, whether it’s an ARC that hasn’t made it to bigger apps yet or not, and best of all, now you can post reviews! I’m so thankful for Bookly and all my other reading apps like StoryGraph and of course Fable and Goodreads where I can connect with more readers!

If you don’t already use Bookly honestly it’s super fun, and helpful for my personal goals, and if it seems interesting it’s definitely worth checking out.

*this is not sponsored in any way, I simply wanted to create a yearly update and this was how I found to do it best for me*

... Read moreAs an avid reader, finding the right tools to enhance my reading experience is always a priority. My initial post gave you a glimpse into my 2024 reading year with Bookly, but I wanted to dive a little deeper into why this app, along with others, has become such an indispensable part of my bookish life. It's not just about logging books; it's about understanding and improving my reading habits. One of the biggest game-changers for me has been Bookly's incredible reading statistics screen and comprehensive reports. It’s not just a simple counter; it breaks down my entire year, showing my total read time, pages read, read speed, and even how many reading days I've managed out of the year. Seeing specific metrics like 358h 13m of reading time or 16080 pages read, as my report shows, gives me such a clear picture of my progress. I can even see my fastest and slowest paced books, which helps me understand my preferences and optimize my reading choices. Knowing I’ve finished 40 total books this year, with an average of 45 pages per day, is incredibly motivating and helps me set realistic goals for the future. Beyond individual tracking, I've also explored how these apps can support social reading experiences. While Bookly excels at personal metrics, the spirit of collaborative reading lists and group reads is something I actively seek out, often leveraging a combination of apps. For instance, when I’m diving into a sci-fi trilogy or a dystopian group read, I find immense value in being able to discuss plot points or character development with friends. While Bookly primarily focuses on personal tracking, its review feature and the ability to track any book, even ARCs, means I can always have my detailed data ready for when I jump onto platforms like StoryGraph or Goodreads for those richer group discussions and in-app annotations. Imagine tracking your progress of 'Fourth Wing' or 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' in Bookly, then heading to a group chat to discuss those intense moments, backed by your precise reading stats! For those looking to integrate Bookly more deeply, the Bookly reading timer is a feature I can't live without. It’s not just about timing; it encourages focused reading sessions. I set a timer, immerse myself, and then log my session. It automatically captures the time and pages, making data entry seamless. This simple act has significantly improved my concentration and helped me consistently meet my pages read per day goals. And when it comes to reviewing, the app allows me to easily assign star ratings and write detailed thoughts, which is fantastic for remembering specific details about books like 'Hades and Persephone' or 'Twisted Hate' later on. Overall, whether you're a casual reader or someone meticulously tracking every aspect of your literary journey, Bookly offers a robust and user-friendly experience. It truly helps turn abstract reading goals into tangible progress, making the most of every page and every minute spent with a good book.
