Make sure they are completely dry, as any remaining moisture can lead to mold and ruin your batch. Once they're perfectly dry, it's time for the fun (and spicy!) part: grinding. As the OCR reminded me, 'mask up and grind them down!' Trust me, this powder is potent, so wearing a 'double mask' isn't an exaggeration – you'll thank me later for protecting your airways from that spicy dust. Good ventilation is also key. Use a spice grinder or a clean coffee grinder for the best results, aiming for a fine, consistent powder. You want it to be like a fine 'jalapeno dust,' not coarse flakes, for optimal flavor distribution in your dishes. Now that you have your 'homemade jalapeno powder,' the possibilities are endless! It’s truly a 'secret ingredient' that adds an 'extra kick' to so many dishes. I love adding it to my morning scrambled eggs, sprinkling it over popcorn for a spicy snack, or blending it into homemade rubs for grilled meats.
