Trunk or Treat Ideas

Hey everyone! I'm already buzzing with excitement for Trunk or Treat this Halloween season! It's such a fun way to get creative and hand out treats. I’ve seen so many incredible transformations, and I just had to share some of my absolute favorites that are super popular and really grab attention. If you're looking for trunk n treat ideas that will make your car the talk of the night, you've come to the right place! One theme that always gets a huge reaction is Toy Story Trunk or Treat. Imagine turning your trunk into Andy's Room! You'll want to gather oversized blocks, some classic Woody and Buzz Lightyear figures, and maybe even a big 'Sunnyside' toy box. To take it up a notch, consider creating a Pizza Planet section like I saw – with a black starry backdrop, the iconic logo, and those adorable green alien balloons with three eyes. It really feels like you're stepping into the movie! For DIY, think about painting cardboard boxes to look like huge building blocks or creating a simple 'Pizza Planet' sign from poster board. Don't forget to have some fun alien toys or even some 'Pizza Planet' themed candy. Another fantastic and super recognizable idea is a Super Mario Bros. Trunk or Treat. This one is always a hit! You can really go wild with elements like a 'SUPER MARIO' sign, shiny yellow stars, gold coins, and don't forget the classic question mark block! I even saw someone create a Piranha Plant decoration coming out of a pipe – so clever! Think about blue fabric for the sky, maybe some green pipes made from painted drainage tubes, and character cutouts of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. This theme offers so much for kids to interact with, making it a memorable mario trunk or treat or even a mario kart trunk or treat if you add some racing elements! For something bright, colorful, and utterly sweet, a Candyland or rainbow trunk or treat theme is perfect. The image of a car decorated like a Candyland game board is just pure magic! You can create a vibrant rainbow backdrop using streamers or fabric, add fluffy cotton candy clouds made from batting, and craft oversized lollipops from pool noodles and cellophane. Think about signs pointing to 'Gingerbread Place' or 'Lollipop Woods' to really set the scene. It’s an explosion of color and sugar that kids absolutely adore. Plus, it's fairly easy to DIY with inexpensive materials! Beyond these popular picks, I've also been inspired by a cute Winnie the Pooh theme with a giant 'HUNNY' pot, a Finding Nemo/Dory underwater scene, and even a spooky but fun monster face trunk! I saw a super creative Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru and a McDonald's drive-thru too – so many possibilities! When you're planning your own, remember to think about lighting if it'll be dark, and choose candies that fit your theme if possible. Most importantly, have fun with it!
