Crispy Bacon & Chicken Wrap

Ingredients:

For the Wraps:

2 large flour tortillas

2 cups cooked, crispy chicken strips (homemade or store-bought)

4 strips of cooked crispy bacon

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)

For the Ranch:

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sour cream

2 tbsp buttermilk (optional for thinner consistency)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried parsley

½ tsp dried dill

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, dried dill, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired. Set aside.

Cut boneless chicken breasts into strips. Coat them in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat in breadcrumbs. Fry until golden and cooked through. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain the excess grease on paper towels.

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for easier folding. Spread 1-2 tablespoons of the ranch sauce evenly over each tortilla. Add a layer of lettuce leaves, then place crispy chicken strips and bacon on top. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it tightly from the bottom up. Place the wrap seam-side down in a dry skillet over medium heat for 1-2 minutes on each side to lightly toast it. #chickenrecipeideas #chickenfeetrecipe #blackstonerecipe #chickenideas #chicken covered w breadcrumbs

... Read moreOkay, let's talk about these Crispy Homemade Chicken Bacon Ranch Wraps. If you're anything like me, you love a meal that's both satisfying and super simple to throw together, and this recipe absolutely nails it. I first started making these because I was tired of bland store-bought options and really wanted that homemade touch with extra crispiness. Trust me, once you make your own, there's no going back! First off, let's dive into getting that chicken perfectly crispy. The original recipe gives you the basics, but here are my personal tips for truly golden, crunchy chicken strips. I always make sure my chicken pieces are uniformly sized so they cook evenly. When dredging, don't rush it! Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the chicken to create a good coating. And for frying, maintaining the right oil temperature (around 350-375°F or 175-190°C) is key. Don't overcrowd your pan; fry in batches to keep the oil hot, ensuring a crispy crust every time. For a slightly healthier, yet equally crispy, approach, I sometimes use my air fryer. Just a light spray of oil after breading and about 15-20 minutes at 400°F (200°C), flipping halfway, gives you amazing results without the deep frying! Now, for the homemade ranch sauce – it truly elevates these wraps. While the recipe is fantastic as is, I often make a bigger batch of the creamy ranch sauce ahead of time. It stores beautifully in the fridge for up to a week, making wrap assembly even quicker on busy days. Sometimes, I'll add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a sprinkle of fresh chives or parsley to give it an extra zing. The key is to taste and adjust; if you like it tangier, add a bit more buttermilk or a splash of white vinegar. This homemade dressing is definitely one of the stars of the show! When it comes to assembling these beautiful wraps, presentation makes all the difference! I always warm my tortillas just enough to make them pliable but not too soft, so they hold up well. Spread that delicious creamy ranch sauce from edge to edge – you want that flavor in every bite! Layering is crucial: lettuce first acts as a barrier, then strategically place your crispy chicken and bacon, making sure they run along the length of the tortilla. Don't overload it, or it'll be hard to roll. Tight rolling is essential for a sturdy wrap. And for that picture-perfect finish, slice them cleanly in half right before serving. The visual of the crispy chicken, smoky bacon, and creamy ranch sauce peeking out from the cut makes them so much more appealing – perfect for a close-up shot for your friends! Want to take your wraps to the next level? Give them a quick grill! After rolling, place your wrap in a hot grill pan or on a panini press for about 1-2 minutes per side. This adds those lovely grill marks, warms the tortilla through, and slightly crisps it, intensifying all the flavors. It's a small step that makes a huge difference, especially if you enjoy that 'grilled' taste. And if you're feeling adventurous and love a kick, try making a buffalo chicken bacon ranch wrap! Just toss some of your cooked crispy chicken in a tablespoon or two of your favorite buffalo sauce before adding it to the wrap. It's an easy way to add a whole new flavor dimension. Enjoy making these, they're always a hit!
