🌸Dva🌸
I love Dva but tank is so unfun to play I can’t stand queueing for it. Ironically, I play her more in open queue than I would ever play her normally.
I feel like I have to do longer description on here.

I totally get what you mean about D.Va and the tank role in Overwatch! It's such a conundrum when you adore a hero but queuing for their primary role can feel like a chore sometimes. I've been there, feeling the grind, especially in competitive role queue. But honestly, D.Va has so much potential for incredible plays that can really turn the tide, making those tough matches worth it. One of the biggest reasons I stick with D.Va, even when I'm feeling the tank fatigue, is her ability to secure a 'PLAY OF THE GAME' moment. There's nothing quite like launching a perfectly timed Self-Destruct that nets you a '10 PLAYER KILL STREAK!' or clearing an objective like 'ESCORT THE PAYLOAD' all by yourself. It's those high-impact plays that remind you why you fell in love with her in the first place. If you're looking to consistently pull off those 'AS D.VA' highlights, here are a few things I've picked up: Master the Bomb: Don't just throw D.Va's ultimate blindly. Look for choke points, enemy abilities on cooldown (like Transcendance or Immortality Field), and try to combo with crowd control from your teammates. Sometimes, just forcing enemies off the objective is a win, even if you don't get the kills. Aggressive Peeling: D.Va is fantastic at diving enemy backlines, but she's equally good at peeling for her own supports. If a Genji or Tracer is harassing your Ana, boost in there and shut them down. Defense Matrix is your best friend for this, absorbing crucial damage. Know Your Matchups: The 'dva counter tank' aspect is super relevant. D.Va excels against projectile heroes and can absorb a ton of damage with Defense Matrix. She's great at contesting high ground and shutting down ultimates like Pharah's Barrage or Soldier: 76's Tactical Visor. However, beam heroes like Zarya or Mei can melt her mech quickly, so be mindful of when to engage and disengage. Learning these matchups makes tanking more strategic and less frustrating. Embrace Open Queue: Like you, I often find D.Va more liberating in Open Queue. The flexibility of team compositions means you're not always forced into a rigid tank-versus-tank duel. You can play more aggressively, focusing on dives or supporting a push without the same pressure of being the sole frontline. It allows for a more fluid and, frankly, more fun D.Va experience, especially if you're experimenting with different team synergies. Finding that 'maintained dva fun' often comes down to adapting your playstyle and focusing on the moments where she truly shines. Whether it's a clutch Defense Matrix saving your team from a barrage of ultimates or a perfectly placed Self-Destruct that secures the final point, D.Va is a hero with a high skill ceiling and endless potential for impactful plays. Keep honing those skills, and those 'PLAY OF THE GAME' notifications will keep popping up across your TikTok feed!
