Most proud of this picture is the near-extinction Red-breasted Goose.
The bird in this picture is the Branta ruficollis or the red-chested goose. We had the opportunity to visit Wingham Wildlife Park, in Kent, near London, and meet the younger. All the tourists took many shots of the younger.
Notable characteristics:
• The chest and neck sides are bright rusty red.
• There is a clear white stripe against the black ground around the head and body.
• The wings are mostly black with white points.
• It is a small goose compared to other goose species.
Habitat:
• Found in Siberia, used as a nesting area
• Migrate during the winter to the Black Sea (Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine) and some to the Middle East.
It is a beautiful bird and is considered endangered (Endangered), according to the IUCN, as the bird population decreases considerably every year.
