Having had a birdbath in my garden for years, I can share that adding ice during warmer days is a great way to keep the water fresh and cool for visiting birds. From personal experience, birds are more attracted to water that looks clean and refreshing. Using a camera to monitor the birdbath not only allows capturing delightful moments like splashing but also helps track the number of visitors and their behavior. I noticed that occasional monitoring encourages me to keep the water cleaner, which is beneficial for the birds’ health. Additionally, placing a copper disc in the water can inhibit algae growth, maintaining water clarity longer. During hot days, birds appreciate the cooler water, and the sight of multiple birds bathing and splashing is truly heartwarming. This method also contributes to better bird activity observation, making gardening and birdwatching even more enjoyable.
