Turn Lightroom presets to LUTS for Premiere Pro!

In case you don't know what a LUT is: It's basically also a preset like in Lightroom but for video formats! 🌿

I have a bunch of Lightroom presets that i like to use but not many LUTS to use for my color grading for my videos, so i finally turned some of my presets to LUTS!

I did everything like how i've explained in this post and it's super easy. Once you've done it, you will know the steps for next time :D If i'm right, you also can use the LUT in the program Davinci Resolve if you're using that instead of Premiere Pro!

One handy tool I used is the IWLTBAP LUT Generator website, which is free and straightforward. The process starts by generating a HALD image, which acts as a map for colors. You then open this image in Lightroom, apply your preferred preset, and export it as a high-quality PNG or JPG file. Next, you upload this edited image back to the LUT generator to convert it into a 3D LUT format, usually a .CUBE file. What I really liked is how this method seamlessly bridges the gap between photo and video editing. After conversion, you can load this LUT directly into Premiere Pro or even Davinci Resolve, giving your videos that consistent color style you love from Lightroom. Plus, because these LUTs are customizable, you can tweak them on each video for perfect results. One tip I learned from experience is to always export your Lightroom adjustments at 100% quality to preserve color fidelity. Also, test your LUT on different clips to ensure it works well with varying lighting conditions. This approach lets you maintain a unique visual style across your photos and videos without hunting for new LUT packs. Lastly, exploring different presets and converting your favorites opens up endless creative possibilities for your projects. Sharing this step-by-step method was a game-changer for me, and I’m confident it can help you enhance your editing setup too!
