Hello. There are my experiences of having a puppy hopefully it helps.
1. A bed/crate. Even if your dog is going to share your space (couch, bed, etc), it's great for them to have their own space
2. Leashes/collars/harnesses/tags - Definite must!
3. Food/water bowls
4. Training bag that carries treats, poop baggies, etc
5. A small bag of good quality food (I like wholehearted. It's a good brand that doesn't have grain and additives in it, but it's still affordable. I also do solid gold for my cats due to health requirements). By just getting a small bag, if your dog ends up being a picky eater, it's easier (and cheaper!) to switch to a new food.
