Slow down and really listen.
Slow down and really listen. Anger never produces God’s righteousness.

I've found that in heated moments, taking a deep breath and slowing down can change the entire outcome. Often, we're so eager to be right that we fail to listen and truly understand the other person's perspective. The saying "You can win the argument and still lose the relationship" resonates deeply because I've experienced relationships strained by quick anger or harsh words. Slowing down allows for calm reflection and offers the chance to respond with kindness rather than react in anger. It’s not always easy, especially when emotions run high, but the rewards in personal relationships—and even professional ones—are worth the effort. When I practice mindful listening, conflicts resolve more peacefully, and mutual respect grows. Also, anger rarely produces positive results or reflects the kind of integrity and righteousness one might seek. Instead, patience and empathy pave the way for better understanding and healing. Next time you find yourself caught in a tense exchange, try to slow down and listen fully. It may just preserve the relationship you value most.
