Day 2 of trying to get my pink back.

Postpartum hair loss is one of those things nobody really prepares you for. It’s hormonal. It’s normal. And for most of us, it’s coming whether we like it or not. I’m not trying to stop it. I know the hair will fall out. I’m just trying to take better care of my scalp so when it grows back, it has a fighting chance.

Right now that looks like hair oiling, scalp massages, actually eating nutrient dense foods, and choking down iron pills even though they’re nasty. I don’t know if any of this is magic. I’m not pretending to be an expert. It just feels better to be intentional instead of waiting for the spiral.

Postpartum already takes so much from you. Your body. Your energy. Your confidence. Doing small things like this feels like giving something back to myself before I hit that phase.

If you’re in this season too and need a reminder to choose yourself even in the middle of it, follow along. This is day 2 and I’m taking it one step at a time❤️❤️

... Read morePostpartum hair loss can feel overwhelming, but from my experience, it’s important to remember that this phase is temporary and manageable. Incorporating gentle scalp massages into your routine not only stimulates blood flow but also helps reduce stress—both key for healthier hair growth. I found that using hair oils rich in natural ingredients, like coconut or castor oil, provides nourishment and strengthens hair strands. While taking iron supplements might be unpleasant, they play a crucial role in replenishing iron levels often depleted after childbirth, which can directly impact hair health. Moreover, maintaining a diet high in proteins, vitamins (especially vitamin D and biotin), and minerals supports your body’s recovery and hair regeneration. Hydration should not be overlooked; drinking enough water aids in keeping your scalp and hair follicles well-nourished. Interestingly, did you know men can also experience postpartum-like hair loss? This highlights the hormonal influences behind it and helps normalize the experience. Beyond physical care, don’t underestimate the power of giving yourself grace and patience. Postpartum changes affect your body and energy deeply, and small acts of self-care can rebuild confidence. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet moment each day or connecting with others going through similar experiences, these choices provide emotional support alongside physical healing. Taking these steps helps create a proactive approach—not to stop hair loss completely, but to nurture your hair’s regrowth and overall scalp health. It’s a journey where every small action adds up, making you feel more empowered as you reclaim your sense of self.

Trying ADHD chore charms
In spring 2023 I tried the viral ADHD chore charms. They were super helpful at first. Not that I used them every day, but over time (about 6-8 months!!) I found the routine felt like a routine! I saw comments on the original post saying they did or would have a hard time remembering to put them
