part 3. Breaking Free from Shame
Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” That means God isn’t looking at you with disappointment…He’s looking at you with love, ready to walk this journey with you. That means your struggle does not define you. Your addiction does not make you unworthy. Your shame is not bigger than God’s grace.
I’ve dealt with guilt and humiliation so many times, feeling like I couldn’t go to God because of my own shame.
✨ Pray through the craving – Every time you feel the urge to do something outside of what you talk to God about. Even if it’s just, “Lord, help me.” Let Him be your strength in that moment.
✨ Replace the habit – Find something that feeds your spirit when the craving hits. Whether it’s reading scripture, journaling, or even stepping outside for fresh air, give your mind something new to focus on.
✨ Give yourself grace – This is a journey, and healing doesn’t happen overnight. God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect —He just wants your heart So as long as you are dedicated and determined to change everything will work out. But You Have To Work Harder Than Normal ! God isn’t keeping score of your failures—He’s walking with you toward freedom.
You are not alone in this. You are not too far gone. You are not unworthy of love and healing. Keep showing up, even when it feels messy. I’m praying for you, and I believe in your strength. ❤️

In the journey of healing, understanding the roots of shame is crucial. Many individuals feel overwhelmed by past mistakes, believing they are unworthy of forgiveness and love. However, the message of Romans 8:1 reminds us that we are never beyond God's reach. One effective strategy to combat these feelings is through the power of prayer. When faced with cravings or the urge to revert to negative behaviors, turning to prayer can serve as a lifeline. It’s about building a habit of seeking strength in divine support. Additionally, cultivating positive distractions can help redirect thoughts from shameful memories. Engaging in activities that nurture your spirit, like reading uplifting scriptures or journaling, fosters a healthier mindset. The act of writing can be especially therapeutic, allowing individuals to express their feelings without judgment. Stepping outdoors for some fresh air not only refreshes the mind but also helps reinforce the connection with nature and God's creation. Healing is a continuous journey. It's essential to give oneself grace, acknowledging that perfection is not a prerequisite for receiving love and forgiveness. Self-compassion is a vital component in this process. Remember, God’s grace is not dependent on our track record; rather, it’s a free gift that we can choose to accept. Encourage yourself daily, and know that there is always hope, healing, and a loving path forward. Breaking free from shame starts within, and with each positive step, you can reclaim your worth and embrace the life that awaits you.
