Hey fellow island designers! I know how much fun it is to transform our homes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and I wanted to dive deeper into some of my favorite room designs. Beyond just showcasing, I want to share a bit about my process and how you can achieve similar looks for your own island paradise. Let's start with the kitchen. I absolutely love how versatile ACNH kitchens can be! For a sleek, modern look, I often gravitate towards dark cabinetry paired with stainless steel appliances. Adding a large industrial-style window really opens up the space and lets in so much light. Don't forget the details – a cute dining table and a birthday cake can make it feel so welcoming! If you're going for something more rustic, try wooden counters and perhaps some vintage appliances. Moving into the living room, this is where I really love to experiment with coziness. One of my favorite setups involves a TV mounted above a fireplace – it just feels so homey! Combine that with a large green rug, comfy seating like my white wicker chairs, and some big plants, and you've got an inviting space to relax. Large windows are a must for me, making the room feel bright and airy. For my basement, which I transformed into a second living room, I went for a slightly different vibe, focusing on a more lounge-like atmosphere for entertaining friends. Bedrooms are where personality truly shines. I've tried a few themes, from a tropical oasis with a green leaf-patterned rug and a dark bed, complete with a chess set on a side table for those quiet moments, to a more vibrant space. I even have a bedroom with an ocean view outside the windows – it's incredibly serene! For something really unique, consider pink striped wallpaper and a pink gaming chair for a playful, tech-savvy vibe. A bamboo partition can add a touch of elegance, and don't forget the little details like a pink dog toy by the bed or a window seat filled with books for a cozy reading nook. A green shag rug can instantly add texture and warmth. And let's not forget the bathroom! This room can be surprisingly fun to design. I decided to go bold with pink striped wallpaper and even added a disco ball for a bit of unexpected sparkle. A blue tiled sunken tub immediately makes it feel luxurious, and placing a washing machine nearby adds to the functionality. Marble-like pillars can elevate the space, giving it a grander feel. Remember, whether you're designing a kids' room, a main bedroom, or even a functional office space, the key is to have fun and experiment. Don't be afraid to mix and match items from your Nook catalog or custom designs. Look at the colors and textures in items like a black dresser or clothing rack and see how they can complement your chosen theme. Every detail, from the books on a shelf to the plants in a corner, contributes to making your ACNH house truly feel like home. Happy decorating!
