Places like Emporium 32, which boasts 'Salem's Original Vintage Lifestyle & Curio Shoppe,' are perfect for finding those one-of-a-kind treasures. I even stumbled upon places like Blackcraft Cult, offering distinct, edgy apparel and accessories that really add to Salem’s diverse retail landscape. One thing that truly surprised me about Salem was the food scene! While the original article mentioned how good the food is generally, I wanted to dig a little deeper into what makes it special. Given Salem's deep roots as a bustling seaport, it's no surprise that fresh seafood is a staple. You'll find incredible clam chowder, lobster rolls, and fresh catches at many local eateries. Spending an afternoon browsing the charming shops, grabbing a coffee, and simply soaking in the atmosphere is a unique pleasure when you're exploring on your own terms. I felt completely safe and welcomed everywhere I went, which is always a top priority for solo trips.
