BEST MAY EATS 🤤🤤

special mention:

📍tokyo fog @ matchanomi (hbb)

damn smooth matcha, unique flavoured syrup with slight maple hints, in the heart of hougang with really nice seller as well:)

🤤🤤🤤

📍caesar salad steak + chicken from @ gyg

trying to get extra protein from this post run, a little expensive but super yumz and i felt super healthy lolz

📍plain dry ban mian with spinach soup @ ng kuan chilli pan mee

i LOVE their chilli sauce and it goes super well with the anchovies and the minced pork and the egg! THE SPINACH SOUPPP omg super good got extra veg and meat and century egg to top your meal only downside is that the noodles stick together a lot and may be slightly undercooked but it could be a delivery issue!

📍dry mala @ hot hide out

can yall tell i fw coriander too much… but ya just xiao la all the way because if not poopoo time ah

can’t go wrong

📍chickies happiest meal @ two men bagel house

went post workout since it was near my area and it hit super good, portions are generous and i picked the cheddar and jalapeño bagel which brought out the savoury flavours more strongly, cut by the fresh arugula!

📍butter chicken pita @ dabba st

you’re telling me you can get a bread pocket stuffed with creamy butter chicken and some veg for under 7$ … must I say more

📍byob @ supergreen

first time trying this wondering why it’s so highly rated … and yes how do they make the chicken breast so tender it’s really balanced

📍chicken hard tacos + street corn @ gyg

I ❤️ gyg… super filling and first time trying street corn and the 3.90 is worth the top up… sweet with the savoury cheese heavennn

📍spicy pork kimbap + soy sauce wings @myungga ll

damn worth for money as LOOK AT THE KIMBAP it’s stuffed with meat and with only a thin layer of rice gymbros you know where it’s at … and the wings were pretty good too with the refillable side dishes to cut the greasiness

For instance, the matcha drink from Matchanomi stood out because of its smooth texture and the special syrup with hints of maple, which perfectly complements the bitterness of matcha. Being located in Hougang makes it a convenient stop for many, and the friendly service enhances the experience. If you're looking for meals that balance taste and nutrition, the Caesar salad steak + chicken from GYG is a great choice. While a bit on the pricier side, the protein boost after a workout felt rewarding and satisfying, adding to a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing flavor. Another standout is the plain dry ban mian paired with spinach soup from Ng Kuan Chilli Pan Mee. The chili sauce here is exceptional, enhancing the anchovies, minced pork, and egg toppings. The spinach soup adds a nutritious twist, loaded with vegetables, meat, and century egg, making it a hearty and comforting meal. Although the noodles could sometimes stick together or be slightly undercooked, this might vary depending on the delivery conditions. For spice lovers, the dry mala from Hot Hide Out is a definite must-try. The bold flavors combined with coriander create a complex and lip-tingling dish that's hard to resist, though it's wise to be mindful of the spice level if you have a sensitive stomach. Post-workout meals are well-covered at Two Men Bagel House, where the chicken happiest meal with a cheddar and jalapeño bagel offers a savory, fresh, and satisfying option. The generous portions make it a filling choice for refueling after exercise. Dabba St's butter chicken pita caught my attention with its affordability and deliciousness. Getting a cream-filled bread pocket with butter chicken and vegetables for under $7 is a steal, especially when craving some comfort food. Supergreen's BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl) is popular for a reason. Their tender chicken breast blends well with fresh ingredients, offering a balanced and wholesome meal that leaves you feeling nourished. GYG’s chicken hard tacos along with the street corn is another favorite combo. The street corn’s sweetness paired with savory cheese topping creates a delightful side that complements the tacos perfectly. Lastly, Myungga II’s spicy pork kimbap paired with soy sauce wings offers incredible value. The kimbap is packed with meat and minimal rice, perfect for those watching their carb intake. Refillable side dishes to balance the richness and cut through the greasiness of the wings make this meal both tasty and economical. Overall, this diverse list of May eats not only satisfies different cravings but also shows how local food spots creatively combine flavors and nutritional elements. Whether you’re in the mood for something spicy, protein-packed, or comforting, these selections are worth trying. Sampling such varied dishes also inspires me to keep experimenting with my own cooking, especially replicating the balance of flavors and textures that make these meals so enjoyable.
