La Collina Omihachiman
La Collina Omihachiman, located in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, is the flagship store (flagship store) of the Taneya Group, which develops the Japanese confectionery Taneya and the Western confectionery Crab Harie.
It is one of the most popular sightseeing spot in Shiga Prefecture where you can enjoy the finest Japanese and Western sweets.
The highlight is the fairy-tale-like building that harmonizes with nature, designed by architect and architectural historian Terunobu Fujimori.
Main Shop (Kusayroof): The symbol of La Collina, covered with lush grass. The first floor is a Japanese and Western confectionery section, and the second floor is a cafe where you can enjoy Nama Dorayaki.
Balm Factory: A huge factory and shop dedicated to Baumkuchen that was born in 2023. You can enjoy watching the manufacturing process through the glass.
Castella Shop (100 chestnuts): A healing space with over 100 chestnut trees in the interior. You can taste freshly baked castella and meals.
Gift Shop / Food Court: A fashionable garage-like area where London buses and classic cars are displayed.

Castella egg omelet rice (Castella shop): Delicious lunch with limited quantities using plenty of carefully selected eggs and sprinkled with soup stock.
Arancino (Food Court): A rice croquette with red konnyaku, a specialty of Omihachiman, and a boiled egg, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

ラ・コリーナ近江八幡は、訪れるたびに新たな発見がある魅力的なスポットです。敷地全体がジブリの世界を彷彿とさせるような、自然と調和したメルヘンチックなデザインに囲まれており、写真撮影スポットも豊富です。特におすすめなのはバームファクトリーの２階で味わえる「焼きたてバームクーヘンmini」。当日限りのふわふわ食感が何ともたまりません。私もそこを訪れた際、ガラス越しに迫力ある製造工程を見学しながら出来立てをいただく贅沢さを体験しました。 また、カステラショップ「栗百本」では内装に100本以上の栗の木が使われた癒しの空間で、焼きたてカステラやこだわり卵を使った出汁あんかけのオムライスを堪能できます。限られた数量なので早めの来店がおすすめです。フードコートのアランチーノは、近江八幡の名物「赤こんにゃく」とゆで卵入りのライスコロッケで、外はカリッと中はふんわりしており、食べ歩きにもぴったりでした。 アクセスも良好で、約650台収容の無料駐車場があるため車でも安心。営業時間は9時から18時までで、1月1日を除いて無休です。敷地が広大なため、地図には単に「菓子店」と表示されますが、実際には複数のショップやカフェ、ギフトショップ、ガレージ風のオシャレなスペースも点在しており、一日中ゆったりと楽しめます。自然の緑と調和した建築の美しさを感じながら、スイーツを満喫する休日を過ごしてみてはいかがでしょうか？
