January’s pantry challenge

Participating in a pantry challenge during January is a fantastic way to reset your food habits after the holiday season. I decided to take on this challenge by focusing on using items I already had in my pantry and freezer before buying new groceries. This not only helped me save money but also significantly reduced food waste in my home. One of my favorite meals to make was a hearty jambalaya inspired by the Pioneer Woman's recipe. Additionally, taking on a freezer challenge alongside the pantry challenge gave me a clearer idea of what was in my freezer, helping prevent forgotten items from spoiling. Labeling and organizing freezer bags became a priority, which streamlined meal prep throughout the month.
