⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gill

The Knight and the Moth completely swept me away from page one. The magic system felt fresh and fascinating, the world building was vivid and immersive, and the plot kept me hooked the entire time — no slow moments here!

I loved following the FMC’s journey and watching her grow with each challenge she faced. The relationship between her and the MMC was beautifully written, equal parts tension and tenderness.

And my absolute favorite character? "BARTHOLOMEW!!!" The gargoyle stole my heart (and every single scene he was in). ✨

This is easily one of my top reads of the year — enchanting, emotional, and utterly unputdownable. If you love immersive fantasy with unforgettable characters, you need this on your TBR.

... Read moreOkay, so I just had to talk more about 'The Knight and the Moth' because there's so much to love, especially when it comes to the characters and the sheer artistry of this book! First up, let's address the elephant in the room – or should I say, the gargoyle on the wall: Bartholomew! Seriously, if you're like me and were charmed by his brief mention, you're in for a treat. He's not just a sidekick; he's a fully-fledged character who brings so much wit, unexpected loyalty, and even a touch of melancholy to the story. I found myself genuinely attached to him, rooting for his well-being, and laughing out loud at his dry observations. His unique perspective really enriches the narrative, and his interactions with the main characters are some of the most memorable moments in the book. It's no surprise that so many readers, myself included, are completely taken with him and even seek out 'Bartholomew Knight and the Moth' fanart! He embodies the kind of unforgettable character that makes fantasy truly special. Beyond Bartholomew, the dynamic between the FMC and MMC is beautifully crafted. Their journey is filled with a perfect blend of tension and tenderness that keeps you invested in their growth and their evolving relationship. Rachel Gillig has a real knack for creating characters you deeply care about, making their struggles and triumphs feel personal. You’re not just reading a story; you’re living it alongside them. And speaking of visuals, it's absolutely no surprise that 'The Knight and the Moth' inspires so much fanart and discussion about its aesthetics. The world-building is so vivid and immersive that it practically begs to be illustrated. I mean, just think about the imagery of those decorative moths and the intricate designs! This book feels like a piece of art itself. Have you seen the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition? It's a true collector's gem! Mine features a stunning cover with a woman adorned with a blindfold and a delicate flower, surrounded by those captivating decorative moths. It’s truly breathtaking and really enhances the reading experience. The attention to detail on the cover, with its dark background and white moths, or the intricate pink and blue designs on other editions, really shows how much thought went into the physical presentation of this magical story. It makes you want to dive even deeper into the world Rachel Gillig has created. The visual elements, from the concept art to the actual book cover, are a huge part of its appeal, making it a favorite for those who appreciate the artistry behind their favorite reads. If you're looking for a book that not only has a gripping story but also incredible visual appeal, this is definitely one to add to your collection – and maybe even inspire some fanart of your own!
