Tried out “the devil couldn’t reach me”
#Ouch
Trying to protect ourselves emotionally often means ignoring red flags and burying our true feelings to maintain harmony. I’ve experienced this firsthand, replaying conversations in my head, doubting my worth, and pretending everything was fine when it wasn’t. It’s exhausting when your own instincts tell you something is off, but you silence them because being chosen, even if it’s not ideal, feels safer than being alone. The hardest part is realizing that some of the hurt I felt came cloaked in love and loyalty—I was patient and understanding, thinking these were strengths, yet they often masked deeper damage. This cycle drains your emotional energy and makes it difficult to recognize genuine care. However, acknowledging this pattern is the first step to healing. I found that setting boundaries, trusting my instincts, and allowing myself to feel upset without guilt helped me rebuild self-trust. It’s important to remember that strength comes not just from enduring but from choosing yourself first. You deserve relationships that uplift you, not ones that wear you down under the guise of love.
