Why We Celebrate Disability Pride in July
Happy Disability Pride Month! ♿️🤟♾️🎨
Why July? On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law, changing civil rights history forever. Today, Disability Pride Month is celebrated globally to honor the history, culture, and joy of the disabled community.
This month is about shifting the narrative from a medical "tragedy" to identity, community, and intersectional pride. Over the next 31 days, I’m using my platform to amplify disabled creators, share digital accessibility tips, and break down everyday ableism.
Let’s move beyond "awareness" and move toward true inclusion and celebration.

So is this for people who are lgbtq+ and disabled or just disabled people?
