How do guys feel about women with trauma?

I isolate myself often, constantly guarding my past like a chess game by hiding any traces that might reveal my history. When PTSD thoughts weigh on me, even texts from others feel overwhelming. Looking for a new job terrifies me, the thought of hiding parts of myself around new people drains me. I avoid sharing personal details, making friendship feel pointless. At a salsa dance last weekend, a guy’s attention made me panic, I couldn’t hide my fear, and he reacted like I was “weird.” I’m still in therapy but just want to know how much it would affect the way guys see me. I’ve already been told I’m clingy. So is this something that would affect a guy and make him lose interest in me?

A good guy will understand that horrible things have happened. Men have their own trauma too, and if he has understanding of mental health and trauma to begin with, he'll likely be unbothered. I ended up dating (and marrying) someone who was very aware of mental health (to a limited point for what I dealt/deal with, but he was open minded and willing to learn more and support where he could), because he had to deal with anxiety and ptsd as well. So again: a good guy who genuinely is interested in you *will not* lose interest because you've been hurt before. He would hurt with you and support you through anything you are going through. So don't be discouraged. 🤍🫂

I used to date someone who felt like her trauma was too much. She thought she had to hide parts of herself just to keep me around. But when she finally opened up, I told her, ‘I’m here for all of it—the good, the bad, everything.’ That lowkey blew her away. 😂 That’s real love—showing up for the whole story, not just the easy parts 💯😎
