Work/school’s so tiring, does anyone else relate?

Within about the past 6 months, I've felt the most lazy and unmotivated I've ever felt in my life. I hate going to work, it feels like the biggest chore of my life and I think about leaving as soon as I walk in. When I get off work, all I do is lay down and scroll on my phone for a bit before going to bed. On my off days, I lay down all day even if I know that I have stuff could be doing. I don't have any hobbies or anything, a day off for me literally consists of waking up, taking a shower/hygiene, and then laying back down and scrolling on my phone til it's time for bed. I used to be a really happy girl who enjoyed going out and doing things but I don't even enjoy being out anymore. When I'm at work/out all I do is think about laying down. It's so sad... Crashing at home and sleeping after work beats going on a date thoughts?

... Read moreFeeling overwhelmingly tired after work or school is something many people encounter, especially over prolonged periods of stress or monotony. The sensation of wanting to immediately crash into bed after getting home, as described by the author—"The minute I get home, all I wanna do is crash into bed"—is a common sign of burnout. Burnout can cause physical and mental exhaustion, making everyday activities seem like chores and leading to reduced motivation and enjoyment. A key factor contributing to this exhaustion is the imbalance between effort expended and recovery time. When work demands are high and recovery activities like hobbies, socializing, or exercise are missing, it can create a cycle of lethargy and dissatisfaction. Feeling lazy throughout the day, excessive phone use, and avoiding activities once enjoyed are signals that your mind and body are seeking rest but not receiving effective recovery. To address this cycle, it helps to introduce small but meaningful changes. First, developing a routine that prioritizes adequate sleep and healthy meals can improve energy levels. Incorporating light exercise, even gentle walking or stretching, can also boost mood and stamina. Using breaks at work to practice mindfulness or deep breathing exercises may reduce stress and increase focus. Moreover, rediscovering or starting new hobbies—even simple activities like reading, cooking, or creative arts—can restore a sense of purpose and pleasure. Social connection is another important element; even brief interactions with friends or family can enhance emotional well-being. Importantly, these feelings should not be dismissed, especially when persistent or worsening. Consulting a healthcare professional or counselor can help identify if underlying conditions like depression or anxiety are present and provide appropriate support. In sum, if you feel that crashing at home after work is your norm, acknowledging this experience is the first step. By gradually integrating restorative habits and seeking support if needed, it is possible to regain motivation and find enjoyment beyond the daily grind.

I have honestly never been like this. I find myself a lot of the times go to the gym and also just trying to get outside and enjoy life as much as I can. I feel like I don’t want to get FOMO.
