HUGE PCOS mistake… with melting make up and ugly ass ninja turtle nails 😭 😖 😡
Experiencing PCOS spotting can be incredibly frustrating and frankly, quite alarming. I remember those moments when I’d see unexpected spotting, and my mind would race with questions. It felt like another sign that my body wasn't cooperating, adding to the daily struggles of PCOS. What I've learned on my journey is that PCOS spotting is often a direct signal of underlying hormonal imbalances. It’s not just random; there's usually a reason. For many of us with PCOS, we're dealing with elevated androgens, insulin resistance, and sometimes even a type of weak estrogen called estrone, which can really throw off our menstrual cycles. This imbalance creates a chaotic environment where spotting can become a regular, unwelcome guest. And here’s where I realized I was making a HUGE PCOS mistake! For a long time, I focused on just 'losing weight' or doing endless cardio. While cardio has its place – like aiming for a target heart rate during cardio of about 50-85% of my maximum heart rate, around 135-165 bpm – I wasn't prioritizing something absolutely crucial: building muscle. The insight that 'Women with PCOS especially need to focus on using their excess androgens to build muscle' was a game-changer for me. You see, our bodies with PCOS often have excess androgens. Instead of letting these contribute to symptoms like acne or hair growth, we can actually 'recruit' them to build muscle. Muscle tissue is incredibly important for improving insulin sensitivity – it helps our cells respond better to insulin, which can reduce insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) levels. High IGF-1 is often linked to insulin resistance, a cornerstone of PCOS. Plus, more muscle means a healthier metabolism and can indirectly help manage that weak estrone, which can further alter your periods in PCOS, potentially leading to less spotting. So, what am I doing differently now? I've shifted my focus to consistent strength training 3-4 times a week. I'm not aiming to be a bodybuilder, just building lean muscle mass. I also pay more attention to my diet, ensuring I get enough protein to support muscle growth and steady my blood sugar. It's a holistic approach, recognizing that while diet and cardio are important, neglecting strength training was truly 'The Biggest Mistake IF YOU HAVE PCOS!' It’s about working with our bodies, not against them. It's a journey, and results aren't overnight, but since making this shift, I've noticed a significant reduction in my PCOS spotting and just feel more balanced overall. If you’re struggling with spotting and haven't explored the power of muscle building for your PCOS, consider this your sign. It might just be the missing piece in your hormonal puzzle too!
