Puppy time! 🤍

Bringing home a new puppy truly changes everything, and it's been such a whirlwind of joy, learning, and a few sleepless nights! When we decided to get our rough collie puppy, I thought I was prepared, but the reality of a tiny, fluffy creature demanding so much love and attention is something you just have to experience. The first few days were all about settling in. We had a cozy crate ready, filled with a soft blanket and a safe chew toy. Establishing a routine immediately felt crucial. Potty training was, and still is, a work in progress, but consistency is key! We take our puppy out every hour or two, especially after waking up, eating, or playing. Celebrating every successful outdoor potty break with lots of praise and a tiny treat has made a huge difference. Feeding time is another adventure. We're sticking to a schedule recommended by our vet to ensure steady growth and fewer tummy upsets. Watching our puppy devour her meals with such enthusiasm is just adorable! Beyond the basics, early socialization has been a big focus. Carefully introducing our puppy to new sounds, sights, and friendly, vaccinated dogs (once she had her jabs) has helped her build confidence. We want her to be a well-adjusted dog who loves meeting new people and animals. Of course, it's not all treats and cuddles. There have been moments of frustration, like when our puppy decides her favorite new chew toy is my shoe! But even in those moments, her innocent eyes and wagging tail melt my heart. We're slowly introducing basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay,' making it a fun game rather than a chore. The bond we're forming with our puppy is incredible – every purr, every playful nip, every snuggle reminds me why bringing her home was the best decision. If you're considering getting a puppy, be ready for a lot of work, but even more love!
