Daily doodle
Hey fellow art lovers! You saw my recent mushroom house doodle, and I've had so many of you ask about how I create these cute, aesthetic drawings. It's truly one of my favorite things to sketch when I need a little creative boost or just want to capture some cottagecore vibes on paper. If you're wondering 'what should I try to draw next?' and want something simple yet charming, a mushroom house is definitely the answer! Drawing a mushroom house, especially in a doodle style, is much easier than it looks. You don't need to be an expert artist to get a lovely result. I often start with just a pencil to lightly sketch the basic shapes. Think of a rounded, often slightly lopsided, mushroom cap for the roof – it adds so much character! Then, a sturdy, cylindrical base for the stem that serves as the house's body. Don't worry about perfect symmetry; imperfections make doodles unique and give them that hand-drawn, cozy feel. Once you have the basic form, it's time to add details to make it a true home. Think about a little arched doorway, maybe a tiny round window or two. I love adding a chimney with a wisp of smoke, or even a small path leading up to the door. For that cottagecore aesthetic, consider adding little wildflowers around the base, some blades of grass, or even a tiny snail friend. These small touches transform a simple mushroom into an enchanting dwelling. When it comes to coloring, you can use anything from colored pencils to markers. I often reach for my trusty Artist's Loft basics markers because they give vibrant colors and blend nicely for quick doodles. Experiment with warm earthy tones for the cap – reds, browns, and oranges – and cream or light brown for the stem. Don't forget to add some white dots to the mushroom cap for that classic look! Shading can be as simple as adding a darker tone on one side to give it a bit of dimension. One of the beautiful reasons to be happy about doodling is that there are no strict rules. It's all about expressing yourself and enjoying the process. If your first attempt isn't exactly what you pictured, that's perfectly fine! Every drawing is a step in your creative journey. Even my 'daily doodle' isn't always perfect, but it's always a moment of joy. If you're looking for more easy doodle inspiration, try thinking about other elements from nature or fantasy that evoke a similar cozy feeling. Perhaps a tiny fairy garden, a whimsical treehouse, or a magical lantern. Remember that practice makes progress, and the more you draw, the more confident and creative you'll become. So grab your supplies, put on some calming music, and let your imagination roam freely. Happy doodling!
