Sharing My Acne Treatment Journey

I started breaking out in May of last year, and suddenly, my face turned into an acne nightmare. I went to the hospital for infrared light treatments, needle extraction, took western medicine and Chinese herbs, and went through all kinds of procedures. It was a constant cycle of breakouts, but since May of this year, I’ve had hardly any new acne, and my skin has stabilized a lot. But I don’t want to get too excited, so I’d like to share my experience with other girls who struggle with acne!

Eating spicy food will worsen inflammation, and fried foods can trigger breakouts, but sweet food and milk tea will *definitely* cause acne! The doctor recommended washing my face with just water—avoid face washes if possible. But since I have combination-oily skin, I wash my face with water in the morning, and just use a little facial cleanser at night. I try not to wear makeup and avoid sunscreen, as these things can breed bacteria and delay acne recovery. When going out, just wear a mask and hat! And remember, don’t let your face be exposed to direct sunlight!
