จากประสบการณ์กินอาหารตามร้านลับต่างจังหวัด ผมพบว่าบางครั้งหน้าตาอาหารในเมนู กับความจริงบนโต๊ะกลับสวนทางกันโดยสิ้นเชิง ซึ่งไม่ใช่เรื่องเสียหายเสมอไป เพราะรสชาติและความสดใหม่ของวัตถุดิบที่ใช้ต่างหากที่สำคัญ อย่างเมนูข้าวหมกทะเลไข่ข้น ผมชอบที่กุ้งกับปลาหมึกตัวโตแน่นเต็มคำ สดและไม่คาวเลย ไข่ข้นที่ปรุงด้วยเครื่องแกงเบาๆ ทำให้อาหารจานนี้แม้หน้าตาจะไม่จัดจ้านเหมือนในรูป แต่กลับเต็มไปด้วยรสชาติซึ่งความครีมมี่ของไข่ตัดกับความเผ็ดร้อนเล็กๆ ของแกงหมกได้อย่างลงตัวสุดๆ อีกเมนูที่อยากแนะนำคือเล้งแซ่บ ซึ่งเป็นน้ำซุปที่เปรี้ยวเผ็ดกำลังดี เนื้อเล้งแบบติดกระดูกเต็มชาม ซดน้ำร้อนๆ แล้วช่วยตัดเลี่ยนจากไข่ข้นได้ดีมาก พร้อมกับข้าวขาหมูเนื้อนุ่มๆ ไข่ต้มที่ออกจะดูธรรมดาแต่ให้ความอิ่มอร่อยเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ สิ่งที่ทำให้ร้านลับแบบนี้โดดเด่นคือปริมาณอาหารที่มากแบบสุดคุ้ม ให้เยอะจนแทบแบ่งกินไม่หมด กับรสชาติที่เหมือนทำสดจากบ้าน ไม่ได้พิถีพิถันตกแต่งเหมือนร้านหรู แต่กลับเต็มไปด้วยความตั้งใจและความอร่อยที่แท้จริง สำหรับคนที่ชอบตระเวนกินอาหารต่างจังหวัด ลองเปิดใจตามหาร้านที่หน้าตาอาหารอาจจะไม่ได้สวยงามมาก แต่กลับมอบประสบการณ์รสชาติและความอิ่มที่ดีเกินคาด ใครผ่านไปแถวต่างจังหวัด อย่าลืมลองเข้าไปชิมร้านลับแบบนี้ แล้วคุณจะเจอว่า "ขุมทรัพย์ความอร่อย" บางทีก็อยู่ในที่ที่ไม่คาดคิดเลยทีเดียว ท้ายที่สุด ความไม่ตรงปกในเรื่องหน้าตาอาหารไม่ได้หมายความว่ารสชาติจะไม่ดีเสมอไป แถมยังเป็นเสน่ห์ของการกินตามร้านบ้านๆ ที่แฝงไปด้วยความรู้สึกอบอุ่นและเต็มอิ่ม ที่สำคัญคือราคาที่ย่อมเยาว์แต่คุณภาพเกินราคา จึงเหมาะกับคนที่อยากอิ่มท้องในราคาประหยัดแต่ไม่อยากเสียรสชาติเด็ดๆ ไปด้วยเลย
