My Patio Hummingbird
This little lady comes to visit every day! She will come right up to my face and hover as if to say Good Morning! She surprised me this morning going to the Vinca - her favorite is usually the bright Zinnias! Hummingbirds come back year after year, and this is my 3rd year that she has come to visit my patio flowers! #patiogarden #hummingbird #naturevibes #birdsoflemon8
Having a hummingbird visit your patio regularly is truly a special experience that brings nature right to your doorstep. From my own experience, these tiny birds quickly learn which flowers to favor—bright Zinnias usually top their list, but Vinca can also be a delightful alternative, especially during the summer vibes when they are in full bloom. It’s fascinating to watch a hummingbird hover just inches away, almost like a little morning greeting. Creating a welcoming space for hummingbirds involves planting a variety of nectar-rich flowers and avoiding pesticides that might harm them. Over the past three years, I have adjusted my patio garden each season to attract more of these beautiful visitors, and the reward has been worth it. Not only do they provide stunning natural entertainment, but their presence also indicates a healthy garden environment. Another tip I’ve learned is to maintain a clean hummingbird feeder if you use one, as this can supplement the nectar they find in flowers and encourage regular visits. Additionally, setting up perches nearby gives them a safe resting spot between feeding sessions. This ongoing connection with wildlife has deepened my appreciation for everyday moments in nature and enhanced my outdoor space’s charm. I encourage garden lovers to cultivate a patio that attracts these enchanting birds, bringing a bit of magic to daily life through nature’s little wonders.
