... Read moreHonestly, adding Sardinia to my bucket list was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I truly felt like I had found 'this is it' – the feeling I've been searching for my entire life, as I can remember. This island isn't just a destination; it's an experience that captivates your soul from the moment you arrive. My first stop was Poetto Beach, and wow, it completely lived up to the hype! Stretching for kilometers, its soft, white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters were absolutely breathtaking. I spent an entire day just soaking up the sun, swimming in the refreshing sea, and watching the kite surfers glide across the waves. What truly surprised me was the vibrant atmosphere; there are plenty of charming cafes and restaurants right along the promenade where you can grab a delicious seafood lunch or an aperitivo as the sun sets. And if you're lucky, like I was, you might even spot some flamingos in the nearby salt ponds – it’s a magical sight! It felt like the perfect blend of relaxation and lively local culture. Beyond the incredible beaches, the towns of Sardinia are simply enchanting. I absolutely adored exploring Cagliari, the island's capital. Its historic Castello district, perched high on a hill, offers panoramic views that will steal your breath away. Wandering through its narrow, winding streets, discovering ancient ruins, and stumbling upon charming little boutiques and gelato shops felt like stepping back in time. Each corner held a new surprise, and the local hospitality made me feel right at home. Another highlight was a day trip to a few smaller, equally captivating towns. I loved the colorful houses of Bosa, situated along the Temo River, and the medieval charm of Alghero, with its ancient walls and Catalan Gothic architecture. These towns weren't just pretty faces; they offered authentic glimpses into Sardinian life, from bustling local markets to artisan workshops. I found myself savoring every moment, from sipping a strong Italian coffee in a sun-drenched piazza to indulging in traditional Sardinian pasta dishes that were just out of this world. If you're wondering what to do in Sardinia, my advice is to embrace both its natural beauty and its rich culture. Definitely spend ample time at beaches like Poetto, but also make sure to carve out time for the historic towns. Don't be afraid to wander off the beaten path – that's where some of the most memorable experiences happen. Trust me, Sardinia delivers that profound 'feeling I've been searching for' and will leave you with memories you'll treasure forever.

Truly one of the best days I’ve ever had was exploring Costa Di Baunei in Sardinia. 🩵 We rented a dinghy out of Cala Ganone and cruised down the coast for hours. This coast is home to what was voted the most beautiful beach in all of Europe and it did not disappoint! #sardinia #bucketlis
