... Read moreSince sharing my initial setup for Apple Reminders and Calendar, I’ve received so many questions about how I keep everything so organized and visually appealing! I truly believe these two free apps, right on your iPhone or iPad, are powerhouse tools when used together. Here are some more of my favorite tips and tricks that help me manage everything from daily tasks to complex projects. The Power of Seamless Integration The real magic happens when you integrate these two apps. My most important tasks from Reminders, especially those with specific due dates, automatically appear in my Calendar view. This gives me a holistic view of my day, showing both appointments and to-do lists in one place. For instance, if I've added “Microbiology Chapter 8 homework” to Reminders with a due date, I can see it on my Calendar alongside my “Ecology lecture” or “General bio” classes. It’s like having a digital command center for my life! Mastering Color-Coding for Visual Clarity One of the first things people notice is how beautifully color-blocked my calendar is! This isn't just for aesthetics; it's a super effective way to categorize and quickly understand my schedule. I assign different colors to different aspects of my life. For instance, all my “Classes” like “Bio108” and “Microbiology” are one color, “Personal Life” activities such as “Morning routine” or “Therapy” are another, and health-related items like “Take Vraylar” or “Medication” have their own distinct shade. This visual system helps me immediately see if I'm over-scheduling one area or if I have too many study tasks. It makes managing my “Plan Week” so much easier! Recurring Events Made Easy Setting up recurring events and reminders has been a game-changer for consistency. I use this feature for anything that happens regularly: my “Daily Morning To-do's,” weekly chores, or even daily “Medication” reminders. Instead of manually adding these every day or week, I set them once, and they appear automatically. You can customize the recurrence – daily, weekly, monthly, or custom intervals. This frees up mental energy and ensures I never miss those crucial, repetitive tasks. My “Morning routine” shows up every day, reminding me to start my day right. Don't Forget Travel Time! This is a feature I absolutely swear by, especially for appointments like “Psychiatrist” or “Therapy” sessions, or even just getting to campus. Apple Calendar lets you add travel time to your events, and it can even use Apple Maps to estimate how long it will take based on current traffic. For instance, my “Ecology lecture Holyoke Community College” event includes a “25 min travel time” buffer, so the calendar reminds me when I actually need to leave, not just when the event starts. It’s fantastic for preventing me from being late and reduces stress significantly. Reminders as Your Ultimate Checklist & Task Manager My Reminders app isn't just for simple alerts; it’s where I keep all my detailed checklists and project breakdowns. I follow the advice of “separate folders for everything!” This means I have dedicated lists for my “Grocery list,” “Concept check” items, “Classes” like “Organism ID” or “Discussion on antibiotic resistance,” and even a general “Complete My Lists” for daily tasks. Within each reminder, you can add subtasks, which is perfect for breaking down larger assignments or creating detailed shopping lists. For example, for a “Microbiology Chapter 8 homework,” I might have subtasks like “Watch 50 minute video” and “review article.” This approach ensures nothing falls through the cracks. A Few More Advanced Tips For those looking to collaborate, the “shared reminders iphone” feature is excellent. I use it with my family for shared grocery lists or household chores. Also, don't underestimate “apple calendar multiple alerts.” For really important events, I set up a few alerts: one a day before, one an hour before, and a final one 15 minutes prior. This layered approach guarantees I'm prepared. I hope these insights help you transform your Apple Reminders and Calendar into a powerful, aesthetic, and incredibly efficient planner. It’s all about finding a system that works for you and leveraging these amazing tools to reduce stress and boost your productivity!

Apple Calendar updates I love
so I have updated my macbook air m1 to the latest macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and my calendar can finally link with reminders app! I can now add due dates over on reminders and it’d show on my calendar as a checklist, or I can directly add a dated to-do on calendars and it’d sync over to reminders app!
