On September 8, 2025, the Permanent Secretary of the Treasury revealed the idea of the Thai Proud Party government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Nathin Chan Virgul, to bring back the "half-person" project as an economic stimulus, insisting that if the policy is formally given, the Ministry of Finance can move forward immediately because the systems and platforms that were developed in the previous round are still available and do not need to build a new system, allowing it to begin as early as October this year through the "Money Bag" application.
According to the Permanent Secretary for the Treasury, the budget for the project is already provided for in the 2026 budget of $25 billion, which is enough for the start. If the limit is later found to be insufficient, it can be fortified from the budget to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
However, details about the size of the project, the proportion of co-payments between the public and the public, including the type of goods to join the project, still have to await determination from the government; once it is clear, the Treasury will be able to act immediately, still using the existing platform on the "gluten bag" app to give the public the right to use it.
As for the efficiency of stimulating the economy, Mr Lwan pointed out that depending on many factors - the size of the project, the limit of money injected into the economy, and the length of time it was open to exercise the rights - all had to await consideration from the government again. It was now too early to assess the results, but insisted that if the policy was clear, the Ministry of Finance was ready to drive immediately, with the first step open to interested shops to join the project to register before the public began to exercise the actual rights later.
