Seventy-two journals

Fifteen from the tender chaos of middle and high school.

Twenty-two from college — wild, searching, full of dreams.

Fourteen from my wandering twenties.

Nineteen from my stormy, blooming thirties.

Three, so far, from this decade of becoming.

Some seasons, I wrote like breathing — pages upon pages, ink spilling faster than thought.

Other years, the silence stretched wide.

Each book is its own world:

part scrapbook, part art piece,

part memoir, part confession.

They hold letters, sketches, heartbreak, healing,

and yes — their fair share of drama and tea.

But mostly, they hold me.

They remind me that writing isn’t about quantity —

it’s about the courage to begin.

To catch a moment, a feeling, a fragment of who you were

before it disappears.

Because it’s not how much you write that matters.

It’s that you wrote at all.

That you left a trace of yourself —

somewhere only you could.

... Read moreJournaling is more than putting pen to paper; it’s a profound way to trace your personal evolution over time. Across these seventy-two journals, which cover more than three decades of life, each entry acts as a unique time capsule, preserving moments of joy, struggle, and growth. Whether from the impulsive and raw emotions of middle and high school or the reflective and searching college years, these journals embody a tapestry of experiences. In your twenties, journals often become playgrounds of experiment and self-exploration, capturing the uncertainty and excitement of finding your place in the world. The thirties bring a different tone—stormy yet blooming—with reflections on milestones, heartbreaks, and healing moments, all documented with honesty and vulnerability. Owning so many journals highlights an important truth about writing: it’s not about how much you write, but having the courage to begin and continue. Each piece of writing, whether a quick sketch, a heartfelt letter, or a page filled with drama and insights, contributes to a larger narrative of who you were then, and who you are becoming. Moreover, journals serve as reminders that writing can be a form of therapy, a creative outlet, and a treasured personal archive. In an age dominated by digital communication, the tactile experience of handwriting can deepen your connection with your thoughts and feelings. Elements like letters, sketches, and confessions found in these journals make each one not just a book, but an art piece and memoir combined. If you’re inspired to start your own journaling journey, know that it doesn’t require perfection or frequency. What matters is the willingness to capture fleeting thoughts and emotions—leaving a trace of yourself that only you can create. Over time, these journals become mirrors reflecting your evolution, teaching lessons and offering comfort from your past self to your present and future self. Journaling is a timeless practice that fosters mindfulness, self-awareness, and healing across all seasons of life.
