I heard this phrase recently
In regards to someone being an “emotional puke bucket” for their partner.
it made me laugh because honestly -
That is what journaling can be for a lot of people.
Sometimes you don’t need advice.
You don’t need someone to fix it.
You don’t need to process it perfectly.
You just need somewhere for the feelings to go.
When I don’t write, everything leaks into my tone, my patience, my body, my relationships.
When I do write, it’s like my nervous system finally exhales.
Journaling isn’t always deep or aesthetic.
It’s emotional regulation.
It’s stress relief.
It’s self-reflection without an audience.
Especially for women in their 30s and 40s navigating motherhood, identity shifts, work, and relationships — we carry a lot.
You’re not too much.
You’re just full.
Tonight, try this:
Open your journal.
Write everything.
Keep asking “What else?” until you hit, “That’s it.”
That’s emotional digestion.
Save this for later if you need a reset 🤍
And tell me — do you journal when you’re overwhelmed, or do you hold it in?
