3 Journaling Styles to Try Today
Here’s the part no one really talks about:
You don’t need to “find the right way” to journal…
you need to find the right way for you today.
Because the version of you who is overwhelmed
needs something different than the version of you
who is dreaming bigger…
and both are different from the version of you
who just feels stuck and can’t even start.
That’s why journaling sometimes “doesn’t work.”
It’s not that you’re bad at it.
It’s that you’re trying to use one tool for every moment.
Reflective journaling can feel like too much
when your brain is already loud.
Prompts can feel restrictive
when what you really need is space.
Future-self writing can feel fake
when you’re barely getting through the day.
The shift isn’t in doing more.
It’s in matching the type of journaling
to the state you’re in.
So before you open your notebook next time, pause and ask:
👉 Do I need to release something?
👉 Do I need guidance?
👉 Or do I need to expand what feels possible?
Let that answer decide how you write.
That’s where journaling starts to feel less like a task…
and more like something that actually supports you.

I typically do reflective; when I’m done then I realize how busy my day was in general 😂
