The newly upgraded amphitheater and play park features wheelchair access with elevated platforms and pathways, musical sound elements, a water feature for nature play and much more.
It also features accessible swings, BBQ’s, toilets and a water fountain. #perthisok #perth
As someone who regularly visits local parks with family and friends, I can honestly say the upgraded Piney Lakes Sensory Play Park is a wonderful example of inclusive design in outdoor recreation. The wide paths and ramps make it easy for wheelchairs and prams to navigate without any hassle. Elevated platforms give a great vantage point for children and adults alike to enjoy the musical sound elements and interactive finger tracing panels. One of my favorite features is the water feature for nature play, which provides a refreshing hands-on experience especially during hot days. The accessible BBQs with shelter allow for enjoyable picnics, making it a perfect spot for gatherings. Toilets and water fountains are conveniently placed for everyone’s comfort. The park combines sensory stimulation with physical activity seamlessly. Kids can explore the sand play areas and accessible play tables, promoting creativity and learning. The design thoughtfully includes educational games alongside plenty of space to run and play. Visiting this playground has definitely enhanced my appreciation for inclusive public spaces that cater to diverse needs. It’s a great place to unwind, socialize, and connect with nature while ensuring accessibility is never compromised. For families and visitors to Perth, Piney Lakes Sensory Play Park offers a fantastic outdoor experience that everyone can enjoy together.
