Breaking Bad Brisket Edition!
Reviewing the BBQ food at the Swing Inn Cafe owned by actor Dean Norris from the shows Breaking Bad & Claws
The brisket was so juicy & soft it just melted in my mouth! The ribs were tasty too. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stand in line that long to get a signed T-shirt but I thought it was awesome for him to be out there for a meet and greet.
If your looking to enjoy some BBQ in a retro looking small town dinner type feel with old school comfort cowboy food this restaurant is great! It’s also nestled in cute little downtown Temecula where there is plenty of shopping options to spend your day.

If you're a fan of classic Texas-style BBQ, the Swing Inn Cafe truly captures that authentic spirit with its expertly smoked meats and savory flavors. One of the highlights, as mentioned, is the brisket—soft and juicy, it almost melts in your mouth, a mark of quality slow-cooked barbecue that closely follows traditional smoking techniques. The combo platters are a fantastic way to sample a variety of smoked delicacies, such as pulled pork, pastrami, Texas hot links, and pork belly, all bursting with flavor. The cafe’s atmosphere complements the food perfectly, with a retro, small-town diner vibe that feels welcoming and nostalgic. Located in the charming downtown Temecula, it offers a unique experience where you can indulge in hearty cowboy-style comfort food while exploring nearby shops. For Breaking Bad fans, the fact that actor Dean Norris owns the restaurant adds an extra layer of excitement—not just for the celebrity connection but for the passion brought into crafting a memorable dining experience. The occasional meet and greets, even though the lines may be long, highlight the community spirit and personal touch behind the business. From my personal experience visiting similar BBQ joints, the key to great smoked meat lies in the balance of seasoning, smoke, and slow cooking. The Swing Inn Cafe seems to hit that mark well, especially with brisket that stays moist and flavorful. I would recommend trying their combo platters to get a well-rounded taste of what they offer. If you're planning a visit, consider timing it to avoid the longest lines at meet and greets, allowing you to enjoy the meal and atmosphere without the wait. This spot is ideal for BBQ enthusiasts and Breaking Bad aficionados alike, seeking a genuine taste of Texas-style cuisine in a cozy, vintage setting.
