... Read moreUsing The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% toner can be a game-changer for anyone struggling with dull skin, uneven texture, or stubborn dark spots. From my experience, incorporating this exfoliating toner into my skincare routine 2 to 4 times a week really helped renew my skin’s appearance. I noticed that gently sweeping 2–3 drops on a cotton pad over my cleansed face and neck, avoiding the eyes, effectively removed dead skin cells without causing irritation. One important aspect I learned was the toner’s ideal pH of around 3.6, which is necessary for effective chemical exfoliation without harming the skin barrier. After application, following with a good moisturizer sealed in hydration, preventing any dryness that can sometimes accompany exfoliation. The absolute must-have step is applying broad-spectrum sunscreen the next morning. This protects skin from UV rays and prevents further pigmentation, making the toner’s benefits more visible over time. Consistency truly was key in my results. Over several weeks, my skin texture smoothed out, and dark spots—especially post-acne marks—became less noticeable. My complexion appeared more radiant and even-toned, which boosted my confidence. For those with visible pores and textured skin, this toner can also help refine the skin’s surface, promoting a luminous glow. If you’re new to glycolic acid or chemical exfoliants, start slowly and observe how your skin reacts. Avoid using it on sensitive or broken skin, and never combine it with other strong acids or retinoids on the same night to reduce irritation risks. Overall, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% toner fits well as a nighttime step after cleansing, before moisturizing, and is a great addition to a well-rounded skincare routine focused on brightening and renewal.
